Santosh G Kulkarni is a renowned Tabla artist from Belagavi, he started his initial Tabla practice at the age of 4 with his father Pandit Gajanan Kulkarni and uncle R.V.Kulkarni.
Santosh started giving solo concerts at the age of 8 after meticulously trained by Pt. Basavraj Bendigeri (a distinguished Tabla Vidwan of thee period). He travelled all over India to accompany great artists and to give solo performances too.
Santosh's playing technique is well appreciated by many great artists like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Shafad Ahamad, Pt. Eswarlal Mishra, Pt. Arvind Mulgaonkar, Pt. Bhai Gaitonde.
On October 25, 2025, at the Skills Development Centre, Doha (Qatar), Pandit Santosh Kulkarni successfully set the record for the Longest Duration to Play the Tabla by an Individual, performing non-stop for 4 hours, 1 minute, and 6 seconds. This remarkable feat demanded not only immense technical mastery, but also exceptional physical endurance, mental focus, and unwavering dedication to the art of Tabla.
